Elizabeth Beshel Robinson
Liz retired from Goldman Sachs in 2016 after 26 years with the firm. She joined in 1990 in the Investment Banking Division and spent most of her career in the Treasury Department. She became Goldman’s Global Treasurer in 2005 and a partner in 2006. As Treasurer, Liz managed the firm’s liquidity risk, balance sheet and capital, funded the firm's global businesses and worked with external stakeholders.
Since her retirement, Liz has served on the boards of a number of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
Liz is a member of the Board of Directors of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation and chairs the Board of Directors of BNY Mellon Government Securities Services Corp., the bank’s U.S. government securities entity. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Travelers Companies Inc. Additionally, she is on the Board of Directors of Russell Reynolds Associates and is the chair of their Audit and Risk Committee.
Liz is the Chairman of the Board of Williams College, where she also serves as Co-Chair of the Marketable Investment Advisory Committee and was a member of the 2018 Presidential Search Committee. In addition, Liz is the Chairman of the Board of Every Mother Counts, an organization dedicated to reducing maternal mortality globally. She also is a trustee of Blair Academy, a boarding school in New Jersey.
Liz graduated from Williams College in 1990 and earned an MBA from Columbia University’s Executive MBA Program in 1998.
She lives in New York City and Bucks County, PA with her husband, Samuel, and children, Ava (16) and Jasper (9).
